After he offered a DNA sample, scientists were able to tell him exactly how long he needed to exercise and at what intensity. He also learned what supplements he needed to take and which foods he should eat. Then, he was able to lose 25 pounds and keep it off.

Genetic Testing Has a Promising Future

The marriage between genetic testing and weight management is still very new, but it is currently working for people, and the great news is that it does not matter who they are. Genetic testing works for people in their 70's as well as it does for those in their 20's. One success story is of a 70-year-old person who managed to lose 40 pounds after genetic testing.

Genetic testing is also beneficial for people who have very advanced goals in mind. For example, DNA testing allows scientists to map a person's physiology and metabolism so that the subject can obtain optimum results in strength training and muscle development.
